Chocolate Cake with Silky Mousse, The Ultimate Indulgence!

For the Cake:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup milk
3 large eggs
1 tsp baking powder

For the Silky Mousse:
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted

1. Prepare the Cake Layers:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Cream butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.

In a separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.

Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.


2. Make the Silky Mousse:

Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, whipping until stiff peaks form.

Fold melted chocolate into the whipped cream until fully combined. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.


3. Assemble the Cake:

Place one cake layer on a serving platter and spread a thick layer of mousse on top.

Add the second cake layer and frost the top and sides with the remaining mousse.


4. Decorate and Serve:

Garnish with chocolate shavings, berries, or your favorite toppings. Slice, serve, and savor every decadent bite!
