Ingredients
1. Cake:

2. 2 3/4 cups (315g) all-purpose flour
3. 1 1/2 cups (180g) granulated sugar
4. 3/4 cup (85g) unsweetened cocoa powder
5. 2 teaspoons baking powder
6. 1 teaspoon salt
7. 1 cup (235ml) whole milk, at room temperature
8. 2 large eggs, at room temperature
9. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

10. Chocolate Ganache:

11. 1 cup (200g) semisweet chocolate chips
12. 1 cup (235ml) heavy cream

13. Whipped Cream:

14. 1 cup (235ml) heavy cream
15. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

16. Assembly:

17. Chocolate shavings or chopped nuts for garnish


Instructions
1. Preheat: Oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch (23cm) round cake pans.

2. Make cake: Whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Add milk, eggs and vanilla; mix until smooth.

3. Divide batter: Evenly distribute among prepared pans.

4. Bake: 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

5. Cool: Let cool in pans 10 minutes; transfer to wire rack.

6. Make ganache: Heat chocolate chips in a double boiler; stir in heavy cream until smooth.

7. Assemble: Place one cake layer on serving plate; spread ganache, then whipped cream. Repeat.

8. Top: Whipped cream and garnish with chocolate shavings or chopped nuts.
